Depay attracts Spurs interest

Tottenham are ready to bring Memphis Depay back to the Premier League by offering Lyon £50million for their star man, according to reports.

The Dutchman struggled to showcase his abilities during an underwhelming 18 months at Manchester United and was known more for his flamboyance off the pitch than on it.

However, Lyon came to the 25-year-old’s rescue in January 2017 and Depay is now enjoying a new lease of life in France.

Depay has scored 50 goals in 130 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants, while also setting up his team-mates to score 42 times.

His performances have seen him earn a regular spot with Holland, where he has become an integral member of Ronald Koeman’s impressive side.

According to the Mirror, Depay has attracted the interest of Spurs who are looking to bolster their front-line.

The north London outfit have also been keeping tabs on Depay’s Lyon team-mate Moussa Dembele.

Spurs would need to shell out a lot more than the £15m United sold Depay to Lyon for in 2017.

United also included a buy-back option in the agreement, but it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils are keen on bringing Depay back to Old Trafford.
