Yesterday Tottenham announced the signings of Paulo Gazzaniga and Davinson Sanchez.
Gazzaniga , 25, is a player well known by Pochettino and Toni Jimenez. He signs from Southampton for an undisclosed fee (believed to be around £2m) and will compete with Lloris and Vorm for the no. 1 spot. His signing could be linked with the possible departure of Vorm who has been linked to Newcastle recently.
If Gazzaniga is an underwhelming signing, Sanchez, 21, is the big signing we have been waiting for. A reported fee of £40m was agreed with Europa League finalists Ajax and he will look to cement a place in a back three with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. His signing will strengthen the team significantly and will allow Eric Dier to play his favoured midfield role.
Hopefully this double signing is the start of the summer spending by Spurs. We are currently linked with Balde Diao (Lazio), Ross Barkley (Everton) and Serge Aurier (PSG).
