Latest: Aurier, Llorente, Mahrez, Barkley and more

Transfer deadline day is here! The last few months have been leading to this moment and as such we are expecting a busy day at Hotspur Way. Here is the low down of potential signings.

Starting with the breaking news today:

Tottenham have agreed a deal with Swansea for Llorente. A fee of around £15m for the World Cup winner has been settled and Spurs are in talks with the forward. Chelsea have been strongly linked with the 32 year old Spaniard and Tottenham will have some work to convince him to join.

Serge Aurier transfer saga. The rumours surrounding Aurier have been ongoing for weeks now and the hold up was believed to be due to his VISA/work permit along with his suspended sentence. The VISA has been granted as his sentence has been reduced on appeal. He has already passed a medical and should be free to join. There are whispers that Man Utd may launch a last minute bid for the player… One to watch.

Riyad Mahrez bids. News that Mahrez has been given permission to leave the Algeria national team training camp hit the papers today with reports that Barcelona, Roma, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs all interested in signing him. Roma have had 3 offers rejected (£31m their most recent). Leicester would want between £40-50m for the 2016 PFA player of the year.

Ross Barkley clock is ticking… Barkley has long been considered as Tottenham’s first choice signing this summer. With only 1 year remaining on his contract it was thought Spurs could get him for a cheap fee. That is not the case, with Everton demanding £50m for him. After paying £45m for Sigurdsson they are after as much money as possible. Levy will be unwilling to pay through the nose for Barkley and with Chelsea having a £25m bid rejected it’s hard to see us signing him. A light at the end of the tunnel is perhaps SkySports journo Jamie Weir tweeting that Barkley is “desperately keen to work with Pochettino”. More developments expected – (UPDATE: Everton want around £35m).
