N’koudou wants to be in amongst the goals this season

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is determined to make an impact in front of goal this season.

The lively French winger has arrived at the Club from Marseille, where his goals tally hit double figures in 2015-16.

In all, he netted 10 times in 41 appearances during a campaign in which, as L’Equipe journalist Damien Degorre put it when he gave us the inside track on our new recruit this week, the 21-year-old “became more efficient and more important in the game.”

Asked about his goalscoring record and how he hopes to transfer that onto the English football scene, ‘GK’ said: “Scoring 10 goals isn’t too bad for a player in my position and hopefully I will score more this year – it will happen as time goes by.”

He continued: “I did score quite a few goals last season but scoring goals myself or assisting my team-mates is the same for me.  “When I enter the pitch I just want to play well, put on a good performance, listen to what people can teach me and show my strengths within the team in order to get better.”

Another part of GK’s game that won him a lot of admirers last season was his pace.

“I was born that way – I’ve always had my explosiveness and speed,” he explained. “I’ve kept these qualities and I can’t wait to show them on the pitch. I don’t know how I got them but I intend to use them as best I can!”
