Spurs in pole position to land Ceballos

Spurs are in pole position to land Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to reports in Spain.

The 22-year-old has been considered surplus to requirements at Bernabeu but the North London club has faced stiff competition for his signature.

AC Milan and Arsenal have tracked the star, but Spurs were said to be in pole position as they are the only club playing Champions League football.

And the European Cup finalists are now expected to complete a deal after Ceballos was convinced to move to the Premier League, according to AS.

The Premier League side may negotiate a loan agreement with Madrid however with could include an option to buy as part of the deal.

SunSport exclusively revealed the La Liga giants already offered Tottenham £45m plus Ceballos to get their hands on Christian Eriksen.

Ceballos was used sparingly by Los Blancos last season but he was one of Spain’s key stars as they secured the European Under-21 Championship this summer.
