Spurs target Monaco winger

Spurs are stepping up their efforts to sign in-demand Monaco winger Thomas Lemar this summer.  The Frenchman has been a sensation in Ligue 1, and a host of European giants are in for the 21-year-old starlet.

They have been clear they want to use a large proportion of their large budget this summer on a attacking player who has lit up Ligue 1 this campaign.

He has won two international caps for France while being an integral part of the Monaco side that won the league title, while reaching the Champions League semi-final.

Tottenham were massively impressed with Lemar’s showings against them in the group stages of the competition, where he scored both home and away against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

He also starred as Monaco knocked Manchester City out of the Champions League in the same campaign – and City are also keen on Lemar, having of course just signed his Monaco team-mate Bernardo Silva for £43million.

The Ligue 1 club want to keep the young midfielder on for another year, but a £25million price tag and Premier League football could lure him to England.
