Reports broke out last week that Tottenham made an enquiry about Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez that were rebuffed. However, today Tottenham are been linked with another Leicester attacker – Demarai Gray.
Gray, 20, was only signed by Leicester last season for £3.75million after they activated his release clause in his Birmingham City contract. He is an exciting player, capable of the spectacular – as seen with his exceptional 30 yard effort against Manchester United and his Messi-esque midweek goal against Derby in the FA Cup.
He has caught the eye of Tottenham and Liverpool recently and may be available in the summer. Although the player is undoubtedly talented, his appearances for the Foxes are limited – partly due to their current situation and relegation scrap.
Ranieri is putting his faith in more senior and experienced players and has in the past been critical of Gray – suggesting he needs to improve his team play.
