Transfer Deadline Day: Barkley, Isco, Tielemans

Do Tottenham have any transfer rumours? Does a Pope sh*t in the woods? Is a bear Catholic? Here’s a list of today’s transfer rumours:

1) Tottenham will sign Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon and loan him back for the remainder of the season. The 16 year old left back is tipped to be a star and is wanted by a host of Premier League teams. Even his team-mate Stefan Johansen said “the way he is, it will be quite hard to keep him. It’s 99 per cent certain he will be one of the top left-backs in the world.”

2) Southend scout Tottenham player, Nathan Oduwa to sign in the coming days. Oduwa put in a fine performance last night for the U23’s – scoring 1 and assisting 2. Southend manager Phil Brown was in attendance watching his new signing Luke Amos but it was Oduwa who caught the eye. Brown may look to sign the player on loan with a view to completing a free transfer at the end of the season.

3) Everton and Tottenham will have to wait until the summer to sign Feyenoord midfielder Ozancan Kokcu. Netherlands youth international Kokcu, 18, has been tracked by both clubs in recent weeks. Kokcu’s contract expires at the end of the season and Tottenham would have to pay Feyenoord compensation due to his age.

4) Tottenham to bid £18.75m for Belgian wonder kid Youri Tielemans. Belgian media now claim that Tottenham are the front runners, along with Juventus and Atletico Madrid, for the teenager’s signature after the club’s sporting director Herman van Holsbeeck hinted that he may leave in the summer. Spurs may decide to get in there quickly to set up a deal, believed to be around £18.75m, today before there is a mad scramble in the summer.

5) Ross Barkley, Isco and Daniel Sturridge are among a list of players most likely to join Tottenham before the January transfer window closes, according to bookmakers BetFair. Barkley is deemed to be the player most likely to sign for Spurs after they made enquiries for the Everton midfielder in December. The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of next season after signing a new deal at Goodison Park in 2014.

 6) Tottenham will make a move for Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez. With Southampton set to land Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini, Rodriguez could now be available. This will interest Pochettino who is in the market for a forward.

7) Galatsaray are trying to sign Vincent Janssen on loan. Janssen reportedly turned down a move earlier in the window but Galatasaray are still interested and have approached Tottenham again. The Turkish giants are chasing a new striker and Leicester City’s Ulloa is another striker on their radar.

8) Tottenham lead Bruma chase, £20m deal this summer. Portugese winger Bruma has been a target for Tottenham for the past few months and wants a move to the Premier League. However, Galatasaray won’t sell him this window but will offer the winger a new contract & pay rise – compromising with a £20m release clause.

9) Tottenham & West Ham vying to sign Roma £26m star. Midfielder Leandro Paredes is expected to leave the Serie A side by the close of the transfer window, and the Argentine’s two likeliest destinations are West Ham and Tottenham. Roma are set to sign Franck Kessie from Atalanta and would sanction the transfer of Paredes. Juventus are also interested.
