Rumours circulating the internet today suggest Anton Walkes has had his contract terminated.
Walkes, who is currently on-loan at Atlanta, has made one senior appearance for Tottenham senior side – coming on as a substitute in the FA Cup win over Gillingham. The midfielder-turned-defender has been unable to force his way into the team and joined the new MLS side Atlanta on loan in January.
He has struggled for game time in the MLS too and according to a report on the Official FA website – Walkes has had his contract terminated in mid-February.
If true, it’s disappointing for the young player who had been tipped for a bright future at Spurs. However, this news has not been confirmed by Tottenham, Atlanta or the player so we are not treating the rumour with anything more than a pinch of salt.
