Danny Rose to return from knee injury in early April

Tottenham are hopeful Danny Rose will return to first-team action soon after this month’s international break.

Rose has not played since sustaining a medial knee ligament injury during the 0-0 draw at Sunderland on January 31 and, though Spurs had hoped he would be back by now, the 26-year-old’s recovery has taken longer than originally anticipated.

However, it is believed Rose will be able to make his comeback in early April. After their game at Burnley on April 1, Spurs travel to Swansea on April 5 before facing Watford at White Hart Lane three days later.

In Rose’s absence, Ben Davies has played at left-back or left wing-back and, after a shaky start, has started to find his rhythm, with his display in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Everton his best to date.
