Dele and Winks should be “chomping at the bit” to impress Mourinho claims Hoddle

Tottenham legend, Glenn Hoddle, has claimed that both Harry Winks and Dele Alli should be ‘chomping at the bit’ to impress Jose Mourinho.
Both Winks and Alli have been linked with moves away from Spurs after falling down the pecking order under Mourinho. With the Euros set to take place next summer, both midfielders have a big decision to make in January.
However, Hoddle, speaking to the Evening Standard, believes that Alli and Winks are providing Mourinho with a wonderful problem and has pointed out £53m signing, Tanguy Ndombele, as the perfect example.
“When Jose first arrived, you thought Tanguy Ndombele was going to leave the club. But he ended up making up with Jose, is in the team now and would have started against Arsenal if he was not injured. So I do not think Dele Alli should be thinking that is it for him at Spurs.
“Harry Winks is also a good little footballer who needs to play if he is going to get in the England squad. So there is Winks and Alli, whose futures are in the hands of Mourinho. Then when they play it is up to them to save their careers. What a wonderful thing for a manager, to know there are players chomping at the bit to show you what they can do.”
