This is fantastic news for Spurs. The Argentine was a favourite of Pochettino and his attacking, high press tactics, and will be welcome competition when back and fully fit. The forward has struggled with injuries and personal problems during the last year. It is likely it will take some time before we see him fully fit and fighting for a starting berth with him having such a long time out.
Lamela is, in my opinion, a very underrated player in our side. His constant hustle during games mean defenders get no time on the ball and he works very hard defensively tracking back. He is probably our second most creative player behind Eriksen and in stubborn games such as the draws to Swansea and Burnley, his creativity may have helped win the games.

I’d expect it will be after Christmas by the time we see Lamela in real condition to play a part for Spurs but it’s great to see him finally making progress.
