Everton boss Frank Lampard has praised Spurs boss Antonio Conte and says he has “huge respect for him as a coach”.
“I think there’s nothing better than seeing a manager who’s really real, very true to themselves,” Lampard said on the passionate touchline displays that are Conte’s trademark.
“If I was fan, and I’m supporting his club, I’d love to see that.
“His success speaks for itself and of course I would have loved to have played under him because he’s shown himself to be a top, top coach.”
Lampard takes 17th-placed Everton to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night in desperate need of points to escape from trouble and is wary of the threat Conte’s side will pose.
“They’re unpredictable in any moment and we have to respect their style,” he said. “We’ve all seen the quality individuals they possess and the relationship Harry Kane has with Son.”
