Kane named world’s most valuable footballer

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been named as the world’s most valuable footballer in a new survey which features a number of Spurs players.

The CIES Football Observatory algorithm takes into account players’ most recent seasons along with other factors, such as age and remaining contract.

Kane, who is expected to sign a new deal at Tottenham in the coming weeks, comes out on top of the list of 100 players with a value of £176m. PSG star Neymar comes in second at £171m, with his club team-mate Kylian Mbappe on £163m.

Rounding out the rest of the top ten are Lionel Messi (£161m), Liverpool star Mohamed Salah (£150m), Dele Alli (£150m), Kevin De Bruyne (£146m), Antoine Griezmann (£144m), Paulo Dybala (£144m) and Romelu Lukaku (£143m).

Other Spurs players in the list are Christian Eriksen, who comes in 20th and is valued at £93m. Eric Dier is 34th with a value of £80m and Davinson Sanchez and Heung-Min Son come in 38th and 39th, both priced up at £79m.

Former Tottenham star Gareth Bale is placed at 61st in the list at £64m, while Spurs target Anthony Martial is 87th with a value of £53m.
