King doesn’t want to be back up to Kane

Josh King is unsure about joining Tottenham as he does not want to be Harry Kane’s back-up.

The Cherries striker is the pick of the bunch at Dean Court – allowing him to bag an impressive 16 league goals last term.

But despite Spurs and Everton offering the ex-Manchester United striker a route back to the top, he is not desperate to leave Bournemouth.

King, 25, who is valued at £30m, had the best season of his career last campaign and is aware he needs regular game time to further his development.

He played just twice in four seasons at United while being sent out on loan before heading to Blackburn.

The Cherries swooped in 2015 and the Norway star has thrived under Eddie Howe – hitting form for both club and country.

Tottenham are desperate to add pace up front while securing a quality option to ease the burden on Kane after Vincent Janssen flopped.
