Former Tottenham manager Andre Villas Boas has criticised chairman Daniel Levy in an interview with ASPIRE4SPORT.
AVB was sacked by Levy in 2013 after just 17 months in charge following a heavy 5-0 defeat to Liverpool. Despite an initial impressive first season – narrowly missing out on the top 4, AVB struggled following the sale of Gareth Bale and his transfer business with the proceeds left a lot to be desired. Of the crop of 7 players bought only Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela are still with us.
“Daniel Levy is an expert in sacking managers. There’s no time for long-term projects in the Premier League,
“At Tottenham I learnt to be different. At Chelsea the group was more important, I stuck to my methods too much.”
Since then AVB had some success in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg but is currently without a club. Meanwhile, Daniel Levy seems to have settled with Mauricio Pochettino who is proving a fantastic appointment.
