Alfie Dorrington (Defender) – on loan at Aberdeen
Game: Away to Sparta Prague in Conference League (Lost 3-0)
Minutes Played: 90
Pass Accuracy: 20/25 (80%)
Defensive Contributions: 6
Duels Won: 4/4 (100%)
Player Fact: Dorrington had the least amount of touches than any other outfield player (33).
Loan Summary So Far: Focusing only on the Scottish League, Dorrington has started only 3 games, featuring in 6, out of 17. He was injured for a bit, due to a recurring hamstring problem, but certainly needs to get more game time. Sadly, I don’t think he has had too many (if any) stand out performances this season, however I do feel that he should stay here for the remainder of the season. Next season, a Championship loan would be a must, and depending how that goes should determine whether he still has a Tottenham Career.
Mikey Moore (Winger) – on loan at Rangers
Game 1 of 2: Home to Hibernian (Won 1-0)
Minutes Played: 69
Pass Accuracy: 28/30 (93%)
Expected Goals: 0.14
Blocked Shots: 3
Touches: 51
Mikey Moore (Winger) – on loan at Rangers
Game 2 of 2: Away to Hearts (Lost 2-1)
Minutes Played: 90
Pass Accuracy: 8/13 (62%)
Expected Goals: 0.6
Shot Accuracy: 1/1 (100%)
Touches: 31
Player Fact: Moore completed the most amount of dribbles (3).
Loan Summary So Far: Rangers have played 17 League Games, with Moore featuring in 12 games (starting 7) and getting 2 goals & 1 assist. Under the previous Rangers manager, I would have said to recall Moore in January, but this new manager seems to believe him in. He is getting a lot more game time now, and is gaining a lot of experience playing for Rangers. He should see out his loan spell, hoping for a Championship loan next season. I really hope he lives up to his potential, and becomes a regular Tottenham player in the future.
Damola Ajayi (Winger) – on loan at Doncaster Rovers
Not in Matchday Squad.
Loan Summary So Far: RECALL HIM. This loan just has not worked out for him at all. Doncaster, who are currently in the relegation zone, have played 21 league games, with Ajayi starting in only 1 game, featuring in a total of 11. Ajayi needs game time, and sadly Doncaster are not offering him that. Even in relegation, the Manager seems unwilling to throw Ajayi into the team. Maybe there is something in training we do not see, who knows, but I would 100% recall him and loan him back to a league one team. Sadly, I have not seen enough talent or ability to warrant him staying at Tottenham, so next season I wouldn’t be surprised if he was sold, but would prefer another loan.
Jamie Donley (Midfielder) – on loan at Stoke City
Game: Away to Watford (Lost 1-0)
Minutes Played: Unused Substitute
Loan Summary So Far: RECALL HIM. Stoke have done a complete dirty on this player. Only 4 appearances, totalling 77 minutes played. This is appalling from Stoke. He needs to be recalled in January, and loaned to a Championship team to gain experience. Solely based on how Stoke have handled this loan, I would also recall Phillips and not loan to Stoke again.
Ashley Phillips (Defender) – on loan at Stoke City
Game: Away to Watford (Lost 1-0)
Minutes Played: 90
Pass Accuracy: 71/79 (90%)
Touches: 87
Defensive Contributions: 3
Aerial Duels Won: 4/9 (44%)
Loan Summary So Far: With little game time at the start of the season, Phillips has now started 13 matches, featuring in 17. Defensively he seems good but hasn’t done anything to stand out. Would take a lot for him to break into the Tottenham squad, so maybe a loan to a Bundesliga team playing in a European competition, could be the next big step for his development. I certainly wouldn’t want to consider selling him just yet, as I do think there is a good player in there.
Will Lankshear (Striker) – on loan at Oxford United
Game: Away to Charlton (Lost 1-0)
Minutes Played: 15
Pass Accuracy: 2/3 (67%)
Touches: 10
Duels Won: 3/4 (75%)
Loan Summary So Far: Lankshear has featured in 21 league matches, starting 16, and scoring 5 goals. I think there is still a huge room for improvement for Lankshear, with a goal every 4 games & a shot accuracy of only 31%, he very much needs to work on his game. My consistent opinion on Lankshear is he as all the quality to be a very good striker, but just does not comes across like he works hard enough to chase down the ball, push his team forward, and create space. This may come with experience, and potentially another loan to a more attacking Championship team or even a Bundesliga team. I really do hope he becomes a Tottenham regular, but there is a lot more work to do.
Tyrese Hall (Midfielder) – on loan at Notts County
Suspended.
Loan Summary So Far: 21 League Games, with Hall starting 9, and featuring in 14. His loan started off quite slowly, but has now become an integral part of the team, with 6 goal contributions from Midfield (5 goals, 1 assist). He is very good on the ball, and isn’t afraid of taking on players. Really exciting player, who in my opinion should get an opportunity to play for a Championship team next season. If he doesn’t get a loan in a higher league, I do fear us moving him on too soon.
George Abbott (Midfielder) – on loan at Wycombe Wanderers
Currently Injured.
Loan Summary So Far: Sadly an injury has kept him from not playing for a while, but at the start of the season he featured 10 times, starting 6 games. Solely judging on those early games, unfortunately I do not believe Abbott has a long term future at Tottenham. He is a strong player, who works well as a defensive midfielder, but in them early games he didn’t show enough to warrant a higher league loan.
Luka Vuskovic (Defender) – on loan at Hamburger SV
Game: Home to Frankfurt (Drew 1-1)
Minutes Played: 90
Pass Accuracy: 46/56 (82%)
Defensive Contributions: 11
Touches: 72
Aerial Duels Won: 4/4 (100%)
Player Fact: Huge shout out to Vuskovic quick thinking & mature response to Rasmus Kristensen losing consciousness after a collision. Vuskovic acted quickly, and got Kristensen into the recovery position, and ensured he didn’t swallow his tongue, whilst the medical team entered the pitch. Brilliant reactions from our young centre back.
Loan Summary So Far: I cannot tell you just how much I think Vuskovic is a potential world class talent. The more I watch him, the more he reminds of Toby Alderwerield. He has started 13 matches, scoring 2 goals. He continually features in team of the week, his statistics for defending are unbelievable, and I just cannot wait to have him back at Tottenham. What a talent.
Alejo Veliz (Striker) – on loan at Rosario Central
No Match.
Loan Summary So Far: Started all 16 matches, with 5 goals & 1 assist. He has a 46% shot accuracy, as his overall attacking statistics look good. He is however 22 now, and hasn’t done anything in his loan spells to warrant keeping him. I think come the summer, he will be leaving Tottenham.
Min-Hyeok Yang (Winger) – on loan at Portsmouth
Game: Away to Derby (Drew 1-1)
Minutes Played: Unused Substitute
Loan Summary So Far: Yang has started in half of Portsmouth’s games, featuring in a total of 13, with 3 goal contributions. The way Portsmouth play, does not seem to be paying off for Yang. He has shown glimpses of quality, and some real exciting pace / attacking ability. If we could recall him, and loan him to a more attacking team, then I think he will do very well for us in the future.
Alfie Devine (Midfielder) – on loan at Preston North End
Game: Home to Norwich (Drew 1-1)
Minutes Played: 78
Pass Accuracy: 23/29 (79%)
Touches: 51
Defensive Contributions: 7
Passes into Final Third: 8
Loan Summary So Far: Great loan so far, with Devine featuring in all 21 league games, starting 16, scoring 3 goals, and assisting in 2 goals. His all round play is very good, with strong passing statistics, defensively looking very solid, and loves to push forward and attack. I am somewhat surprised that there is a buy option in his loan, as he has really shown us that he could potentially feature in the Premier League or European League. Would be a big mistake if we let him go on the cheap.
Manor Solomon (Winger) – on loan at Villareal
Game: Home to Barcelona (Lost 2-0)
Minutes Played: Unused Substitute
Loan Summary So Far: Started only 1 game, with a total of 146 minutes played in the league. It just isn’t working out for him, and most likely needs to be sold. Whether he can be loaned elsewhere in January, just to advertise him for a summer sale.
