Loan Update 29-09-2025

Alfie Dorrington (Defender) – on loan at Aberdeen

Game: Away to Dundee United (Won 2-0) & Away to Motherwell (Lost 2-0)

Minutes Played: 45 & 45

Pass Accuracy: 24/30 (80%) & 20/21 (95%)

Clearances / Interceptions: 7 & 5

Player Fact: Dorrington committed a foul leading to a penalty for Motherwell, scoring the 2nd goal.

Personal Opinion: It is nice to see him getting more minutes, but he still does not seem to be nailing down the position. I don’t think this is completely on him, given that Aberdeen have lost 7 games already this season.

Manor Solomon (Winger) – on loan at Villareal

Game: Away to Sevilla (Won 2-1) & Home to Athletic Club (Won 1-0)

Minutes Played: 6 & 72

Goals / Assists: 1 Goal against Sevilla

Shot Accuracy: 1/1 (100%) against Sevilla

Touches: 4 & 34

Player Fact: Against Athletic Club, Solomon completed the most dribble in the match (3).

Personal Opinion: Despite the unnecessary abuse Solomon got from the Sevilla fans, what a moment for him to shut them up with the winning goal 2 minutes into coming on.

Mikey Moore (Winger) – on loan at Rangers

Game: Home to Genk in Europa League (Lost 1-0) & Away to Livingston (Won 2-1)

Minutes Played: 45 & 8

Goals / Assists: 0 & 0

Pass Accuracy: 11/14 (79%) & 5/7 (71%)

Shot Accuracy: 0/3 (0%) & 1/1 (100%)

Personal Opinion: Unfortunately, I am not convinced that this loan is working. A lot could change in the coming weeks, just seems that their playing style isn’t suiting Moore.

Will Lankshear (Striker) – on loan at Oxford United

Game: Home to Sheffield United (Lost 1-0)

Minutes Played: 78

Goals / Assists: 0

Pass Accuracy: 10/12 (83%)

Shot Accuracy: 0/1 (0%)

Duels Won: 5/12 (42%)

Player Fact: Lankshear was the most fouled player of the match (3 times)

Personal Opinion:  Even though Lankshear didn’t have a shot on target, I wouldn’t say he had a quiet game. Sheffield’s defence looked solid in this game, and really marked Lankshear well.

Tyrese Hall (Midfielder) – on loan at Notts County

Game: Away to Crewe Alexandra (Lost 2-1)

Minutes Played: 72

Pass Accuracy: 17/19 (89%)

Shot Accuracy: 1/2 (50%)

Touches: 39

Personal Opinion: Hall got stuck into the game, was confident enough to take on players, and ping a few balls into the box. He seems to just have bags of energy, and hopefully can hold down this starting spot.

Alejo Veliz (Striker) – on loan at Rosario Central

Game: Away to Gimnasia (Won 3-0)

Minutes Played: 90

Goals / Assists: 1 Goal

Pass Accuracy: 12/21 (57%)

Shot Accuracy: 1/2 (50%)

Duels Won: 8/12 (66%)

Personal Opinion: Goal within 2 minutes! 3 goals in 10 matches, starting all 10 matches. Really hard work rate from the striker, with great link up play with Angel Di Maria.

George Abbott (Midfielder) – on loan at Wycombe Wanderers

Game: Away to Wigan in EFL Cup (Won 2-0) & Away to AFC Wimbledon (Lost 2-1)

Minutes Played: 90 & 45

Goals / Assists: 1 Assist

Pass Accuracy: 32/35 (91%) & 19/26 (73%)

Touches: 56 & 36

Player Fact: In the game against Wigan, Abbott created the most changes in the match (2), whilst in the Wimbledon Match, he was the most fouled player (3).

Personal Opinion: Abbott has forced his way into the Wycombe team. Was pivotal in the EFL cup game and was rested against Wimbledon. He was brought on at half time when losing 2-0 and took the game to Wimbledon.

Damola Ajayi (Winger) – on loan at Doncaster Rovers

Game: Away to Tottenham Hotspur in EFL Cup (Lost 3-0) & Away to Luton Town (Lost 1-0)

Minutes Played: 61 & Not in Squad

Goals / Assists:

Pass Accuracy: 8/10 (80%)

Duels Won: 3/4 (75%)

Personal Opinion: Great performance for him against his parent club, but unfortunately for him our Djed Spence was just too good for him. Exciting player for the future.

Jamie Donley (Midfielder) – on loan at Stoke City

Game: Home to Norwich City (Drew 1-1)

Minutes Played: Unused Substitute

Ashley Phillips (Defender) – on loan at Stoke City

Game: Home to Norwich City (Drew 1-1)

Minutes Played: Unused Substitute

Min-Hyeok Yang (Winger) – on loan at Portsmouth

Game: Away to Ipswich Town (Lost 2-1)

Minutes Played: 74

Pass Accuracy: 10/16 (62%)

Chances Created: 1

Shot Accuracy: 1/2 (50%)

Personal Opinion: Sadly he didn’t do much to stand out in this game. Lost the ball a few times, wasn’t overly confident when attempting to dribble with the ball. I think he is just a little rusty, and low on confidence. This should still be a good loan for him, so hopefully he continues to get minutes on the pitch.

Alfie Devine (Midfielder) – on loan at Preston North End

Game: Home to Bristol City (Drew 0-0)

Minutes Played: 84

Pass Accuracy: 18/30 (60%)

Personal Opinion: Despite playing in a very dull draw, Devine was close to getting the winning goal, if it wasn’t for a last-ditch defensive tackle. He is a very tricky player to play against, can twist & turn with the ball easily, and shows incredible skill.

Luka Vuskovic (Defender) – on loan at Hamburger SV

Game: Away to Union Berlin (Drew 0-0)

Minutes Played: 90

Pass Accuracy: 88/101 (87%)

Touches: 122

Clearances: 26

Player Fact: Vuskovic complete the most passes in the match, whilst also winning the most duels in the match. He is the first player in Europe’s top 5 leagues, over the last 5 seasons, to win 18 aerial dues in a single match.

Personal Opinion: What a performance. The player facts of the game speak for themselves. Top rated defender of the game and should have been player of the match in my opinion. Unreal talent.

Mason Melia (Striker) – Joining Tottenham at 18 from St Patricks Athletic

Game: Home to Cork City (Won 4-0) & Away to Sligo Rovers (Lost 1-0)

Minutes Played: 64 & 90

Goals / Assists: 2 Goals against Cork City

Pass Accuracy: 7/7 (100%) & 13/16 (81%)

Shot Accuracy: 2/5 (40%) & 0/2 (0%)

Player Fact: Melia was the most accurate passer of the game, with 100% pass accuracy.

Personal Opinion: PLAYER OF THE MATCH! 18 years old! What an impressive performance against Cork (not so much against Sligo but will focus on the positives). Well taken goals, real striker reactions from the young man. Would love to see him on loan in League 1 next season.
