Loan Watch

Spurs currently have several players out on loan and we have been watching and reviewing recent games.

Vincent Janssen.

The 23yr old Dutch striker is currently on a seasons loan in Turkey with Fenerbache and amusingly enough for Spurs fans is forming a strike partnership with former Spur Roberto Soldado.

Although only scoring two in nine games the Dutchman has been playing well and has received high praise from fans who have taken him to their hearts.

Although no deal is in place for a permanent move the Turkish club are said to be keen however are unlikely to meet Spurs asking price.  The player himself has told Dutch media recently how he is finding his belief again by being first choice for the club and being shown the love and respect of the club and supporters.

Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Back in England and in the Championship CCV capped off his fine season so far on loan at Sheffield United by earning his first senior cap for the USA.  The young defender, born in England but to American parents, has represented the US at every age level and is still highly thought of by coaches at Spurs.

Sadly for Cameron the call up has been the recent high point with his most recent defensive display in his sides 5-4 defeat at home to Fulham leading to many Blades fans to demand he be sent back to Spurs reserves!

His defensive errors led to three goals conceded during the game.  His positioning poor and he was beaten for pace all games.  A display he will want to forget and quickly move on from.

Josh Onomah.

Also playing in the Championship on a seasons loan Josh has been playing the football of his career for Aston Villa capping that with another goal recently.  It is his all action displays however which has led to Villa manager Steve Bruce saying he would “break the bank” to keep him in the midlands permanently.

Josh however still remains committed to Spurs.  Speaking to the press and asked about his future he said; “Right now I am focused on earning promotion with Villa, that is my focus but at the end of the season I am returning to Spurs and hoping to secure a first team place.  Yes there is a lot of competition there but that is football, I want that challenge.”

A lot has been made over the future of Mousa Dembélé recently with the Belgian player unable to play two games in a week now it seems and Onomah was always seen by Pochettino as the natural replacement for him.

Connor

Down in League One another Spurs player is on loan.  Connor Ogilvie, an academy graduate who plays left back is having a strong season however its unlikely he will be returning to Spurs to stake a claim.
