Promising signs from Sanchez

Last night’s World Cup qualifier between Columbia and Brazil was a chance for Spurs fans to see new boy Davinson Sanchez in action. The defender left his mark (in more then one way) on the game and it’s easy to see why we have shelled out so much money.

In a mature performance against some of the best football players in the world, Sanchez was more than up to the task. Our record signing (approx worth £42m deal) showed his real strength and pace when tackling Brazil full back Dani Alves – powerfully barging him off the ball and leaving the defender collapsed off the pitch.

With an important and difficult game against Everton on the cards and Wanyama stuggling for fitness, Sanchez could get his first start for Spurs. That would see a back three of Sanchez, Alderweireld and Vertonghen.

Promising and exciting times for Spurs.
