Real Madrid not interested in Kane

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has denied he asked Tottenham to reveal their asking price for Harry Kane.

Perez was quoted by Spanish radio El Partidazo that he had been in contact with Spurs after watching the striker play against Real in the Champions League.

Kane was the heart beat behind Tottenham’s draw in Spain and reports after the game claimed Real wanted to make the Englishman their next Galactico. Tottenham were even thought to have told Real they wanted upwards of £200million for the striker, but Perez has now rubbished these rumours.

‘Signing Harry Kane has not passed through my head. He is a great player and in addition he is young,’ Perez told Cadena COPE. ‘He has many years to progress, but we are delighted with [Karim] Benzema and with all of the team. ‘I didn’t ask Tottenham’s president for the price because he would have told me that he is worth €250m.’

Kane has been in sensational form this season for club and country and added to his impressive goal tally against Liverpool on Sunday. The 24-year-old grabbed two goals to bring his Premier league total to eight strikes in nine games.

Tottenham will not want to lose Kane as they look to become genuine title contenders after two almost seasons. Kane has won back-to-back Golden Boots, but he missed out on a spot in Fifa’s Team of the Year on Monday night. Real’s current superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was the biggest winner on the night, beating Lionel Messi to the Men’s Player of the Year award.
