Record Breaking: Sold Out Wembley

It’s official! Tottenham have sold out Wembley for our first Champions League group game against Monaco. The match will be played next week (14/09) and could (should) be a record breaking occasion.

Tottenham’s current attendance record goes back to 1938, back in the terraced stands era,  when a huge 75,038 Spurs fans crammed into WHL for an FA Cup fixture against Sunderland. That 78 year old record is set to be broken with Wembleys’ 90,000 seater stadium sold out.

That is particularly impressive given Arsenal’s biggest ever crowd – at Wembley 18 years ago – was only 73,707.

Potentially 90,000 Spurs fans singing “Come On You Spurs” in less then a weeks time… Goosebumps! The Champions League is back!
