Richarlison emerges as Spurs target

Richarlison has emerged as a target to add more competition to head coach Antonio Conte’s options and help provide support as back-up for Harry Kane.

But Telegraph Sport understands that Everton value Richarlison, who played a vital part in the club’s Premier League survival, at well over £50m which will test the level of Tottenham’s interest.

Tottenham are the only club to express an interest in Richarlison so far, which negates the threat of an immediate auction to develop, but, despite their financial challenges, Everton are determined not to allow the Brazilian to leave for below what they believe to be market value.

Richarlison still has two years remaining on his contract, which puts Everton in a relatively strong position, and the club is adamant he is now worth more than the £50m they paid to sign him from Watford in 2018.

The 25-year-old scored 10 Premier League goals to help save Everton, who will announce the signing of defender James Tarkowski, from relegation last season and has hit double figures in the league in three of his four seasons at Goodison Park.

Everton’s interest in Harry Winks could provide some room for negotiation over a deal that sees the midfielder and Richarlison move in opposite directions, either in the same transfer or different deals.
