Tottenham are set to sign a contract with the FA for the use of the national stadium by the 31st March 2017 however rumours are circulating that the club have requested an extension to this deadline as they assess how far behind they are on the new stadium construction.
Currently the project is described as on course with some aspects ahead of schedule but others behind however it was a recently leaked email exchange between Daniel Levy and the local government which as Spurs fans concerned as it seems to allude to the club struggling to lock down continued funding due to the lack of movement on the promised infrastructure improvements to the area.
The club this past week secured planning to host 27 ‘home’ games at the national stadium (Wembley) at full capacity however are yet to sign the deal.
Speculation has been rife about Spurs having second thoughts about the move due to the lack of festivities and events planned to mark the final season at White Hart Lane, almost as if the club does not believe it will be the final season.
