Tottenham in crisis

When Kyle Walker decided to move at the start of the summer in search of more money there was a worry this could set a worrying trend to our players. Walker was unhappy with his wages and wanted more ambition for trophies.

Yesterday, news broke that Danny Rose was unhappy with his wages, a lack of transfer activity and a lack of trophies. Today reports are emerging that Rose is being treated as a hero amongst the Spurs players for speaking out against the policies and strict wage structure. This could lead to a snowball effect with Spurs facing a player revolt.

Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris are the club top earners on around £110k per week. Rose earns around £65k, whilst the likes of Eriksen £75k and Dele Alli earn very modest amounts of £55k. Reports last season suggested that Toby Alderweireld wouldn’t sign a new contract as the club wouldn’t make him one of the top earners. This despite him arguably being the best defender in the league.

It’s more bad news coming so close to the start of the season. Hopefully things will calm down when our season kicks off against Newcastle.
