Moutinho revealed he was only “minutes” away from signing for Tottenham in a £24m transfer from Porto. The deadline day move fell through as paperwork was not submitted to the Premier League in time.
I’m sure I wasn’t the only fan that was praying for this transfer to go through at the time. Moutinho is a quality deep lying creative midfielder and one that would have replaced Luka Modric who left on the 27th August 2012.
A shame it didn’t go through but we must make sure he doesn’t come back to haunt us tonight.
