It is not unusual for Spurs fans to read through the press and see their best players linked with moves away, over the years it has been inevitable and more often than not in the summer the star player has moved on. Under Pochettino however top players all look and seem happy, when interviewed they seem focused on the club only and also talk of winning things with Spurs.
Add to that players have signed new deals on a regular basis would all add to the thinking that the squad is secure, unless the manager decides to sell. Which the press are now focusing on.
Kyle Walker, despite being one of those who signed a new deal earlier this year is now being heavily linked with a move away and with every game he does not start it appears the press jump on an apparent falling out between the player and his manager.
Pochettino wants to rotate Walker and it appears that under the Argentinian and with this policy Walker has been able to put together more consistent displays and maintain a level of fitness which in previous years he had failed to do, often missing months of a season.
However the press have pounced on the fact that Kieran Trippier has started “big” games ahead of Walker and have pointed at this is due to the fact Kyle is no longer a favourite of Pochettino. Also many speculate that Walker has had his head turned by the opportunity to move to Manchester City, doubling his current wages.
One things is for sure, if Walker were to leave White Hart Lane this summer it would not be cheap. Even the tabloid press agree that Spurs would be asking for a potential world record fee for a right back.
