Youngsters impress under Pochettino

Who would have thought it? Pochettino bringing through youngsters?! Well he’s at it again!

6 academy graduates featured in last nights game: Cameron Carter-Vickers, Harry Winks, Tom Carroll, Josh Onomah, Anton Walkes and Marcus Edwards. Stand out performances from Carter-Vickers and Harry Winks caught the eye but all of the players looked impressive.

It was the two in question that received praise from Pochettino. Carter-Vickers put in an assured performance at the back and Harry Winks ran the show from midfield.

They play very well, they play with a lot of confidence,” Pochettino said.

I am very happy because if you see the confidence of Carter-Vickers, Harry Winks, Anton Walkes, they were fantastic.

They come through the academy but they have the quality to impress us and play for the first team.

It’s important for Tottenham and it was fantastic to give the opportunity to play and fantastic experience for them.”

The future is certainly bright. It was fantastic for us fans to get a chance to see the youngsters we have heard so much about in a competitive match and hopefully we will see more of them later in the season!
