Rumours and Tottenham go hand in hand and should be taken with no more then a pinch of salt… That being said – recent events have added fuel to the fire. Here are 3 reasons we can start to get excited.
1) Wilfried Zaha – Zaha has been on our radar for over a year now and his impressive form this year means he is likely to cost up to £30m. Crystal Palace manager “Big Sam” has recently said that it would be “impossible” to turn down a big money move for the Ivorian forward.
“Wilf, us and the clubs that want him will decide his future in the end. There is always a point where it may be impossible to turn down what is offered. That is realistic.”
2) Ross Barkley – A similar situation to Zaha in many ways – Everton manager Ronald Koeman has recently spoken to the press saying he would be willing to sell Barkley if the youngster doesn’t sign a new contract. It’s understood Barkley hasn’t responded well to the managers’ comments and will refuse any new deal offered.
“We offer him a new contract, and there are two possibilities,”
“One, he signs that contract. If he doesn’t sign that contract then we need to sell the player. It’s simple, it’s not so difficult in my opinion.”
3) Max Meyer – Meyer sees his contract run out in 2018 at Schalke and the attacking midfielder is yet to commit to a new deal. He has recently spoken to the media regarding his future and was non-committal in keeping his options open describing the chances of leaving as 50-50:
“Of course the thoughts are there, my contract expires in 2018… Everything else we’ll see in the summer”
