Nabil Bentaleb was deemed surplus to requirements this season and has been loaned to Schalke (with option to buy for £17m) but has been impressing over in Germany. Last night was no exception and the Algerian put in an excellent displayas Schalke beat Nice in the Europa League.
Bentaleb enjoyed lots of the ball – winning the most tackles for Schalke in the match and 86% successful pass rate.
The last statistic is one that hurts me the most. If there is one thing I’ve noticed this season about Tottenham is that their passing seems to be off/slack. In his best season for Spurs (14/15) Bentaleb controlled games with his passing and composure. He seems to be getting back to those standards in Germany and is already becoming a fan favourite.
