The 24-year-old has risen through the ranks of the Club and has made 54 appearances and scored three goals since making his senior debut against Hearts in August 2011 in the Europa League.
He has also enjoyed loans at Leyton Orient, Derby County, Queens Park Rangers and, most recently, Swansea City during the 2014-15 season.
Carroll is a former youth international and made 18 appearances for England’s Under-21 side.
