Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is looking to replace Kevin Wimmer with two new English central defenders as he continues to think both short and long term.
Last years Premier League runners up are looking to add to squad strength for the new campaign and in every area and central defenders Ben Gibson, aged 24 of Middlesborough is one of the names being mentioned along with Alfie Mawson (23) of Swansea.
Kevin Wimmer has long been linked with a move away this summer however his agent insists his client remains committed to Spurs and he has had assurances he is still seen as the long term future of the defense at the club.
Press speculate that Wimmer could leave for a fee in the region of £15m and the two central defenders in Mawson and Gibson would cost a combined £50m.
