Dier staying?

Spurs have made it clear to Manchester United or any other interested party that they have zero intention of selling Eric Dier in this window or any other window in the near future.

The young versatile Englishman has become a main stay of Pochettino’s team either as part of the best defense in the league alongside the Belgian duo of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld or as a defensive midfielder where he has become adept at breaking up play.

The player, having only signed a new long term contract last season is said to be happy at Spurs working under Mauricio Pochettino and despite knowing he could more than double his weekly wage at Old Trafford wants to stay where he is happy and enjoying his football.

This will come as a great relief to Spurs fans who not only see Eric as a good player and member of the squad but also fears of the knock on effect his departure would have on his best friend Dele Alli were a real concern among many.

The two of them are seen not only as the future of Spurs but also Englands midfield going into the World Cup next summer.  They compliment each other brilliantly with Dele’s flair and attacking threat covered brilliantly by Dier’s tough tackling and defensive prowess in midfield.
