Spurs prospect “mini Messi” Marcus Edwards again stole the spotlight as he played a crucial role for England U19’s last night.
The starlet, who is hoping to break into the Spurs team this season, had to settle for a position on the bench for the European Championship match against Holland. Coming on in the 77th minute, Edwards managed to set-up England’s winner with a fantastic piece of skill.
Collecting the ball from a poor corner, Edwards controlled the ball well before quickly turning and facing the challenging defender 1v1. He then breezed past him with ease before picking out a teammate to shoot – the shot resulting in an easy tap in and winner.
Edwards will be hoping his cameo appearance is enough to justify starting in the next game and that he is able to catch Pochettino’s eye.
