Spurs apparently rebuffed an approach from Ajax this summer for academy starlet Marcus Edwards.
Edwards, 18, signed a new three year deal in July and did so on the assurances from Pochettino he would be given an opportunity at first team football.
It is expected, fitness permitting, that he will be given an opportunity to impress in the League Cup and go from there in the new season.
