Harry Winks will undergo further scans after results proved inconclusive.
Winks was stretchered off after an awkward collision at the end of the first half against Burnley. He was taken to the nearest hospital before returning wearing a protective boot. Whatever the outcome of the scan, it’s expected he will not return before the end of the season as confirmed by manager Pochettino:
“He is doing another scan (today). In that moment we will see his real problem.
“We hope it’s not a big issue but it will be difficult to play again this season. He twisted his ankle but we need to see the scan and then start his recovery.”
On a positive note, Wanyama’s injury is not thought to be serious with the midfielder telling reporters he is “okay” after the match. Wanyama will be assessed in the coming days ahead of the game against Swansea tomorrow.
