Janssen dropped, Son to lead the line?

Mauricio Pochettino has hinted he may drop Vincent Janssen in favour of Heung-Min Son leading the line against CSKA Moscow.

Tonight’s clash could already be called a vital game for us – given we lost our first game in the Champions League against Monaco. Vincent Janssen has failed to find the net in the league so far whilst Heung-Min Son has been outstanding – scoring 4 goals and collecting 2 MOTM awards.

Talking about Son in an interview with the Evening Standard, Pochettino said:

I am happy with him and he is happy with the last few games. He is scoring and playing very well and I am happy with his performances in the last few games,”

“It’s one possibility to play with him up front but we have Vincent Janssen too. Both have the possibility to play tomorrow – Vincent or him.

Son played as a lone striker a few times last season but it would be a surprise to see Janssen dropped given the two have linked well together with Son playing off the Dutchman.
