Janssen not leaving Spurs this window

The agent of Spurs striker Vincent Janssen has stated his client has rejected a move away from Spurs as he is 100% focused on being a part of Tottenham.

The Dutch striker only signed for Tottenham in the summer but has struggled to find the net from open play which has led to many fans questioning his signing and drawing comparisons with Roberto Soldado (Spurs last big money striker signing who failed to find the net).

The players agent told Dutch media; “He knew when signing for Tottenham his playing time would limited due to Harry Kane being the main man but the manager there explained to him the English league is a big step up from Holland in terms of physicality and standard of defending.”

“Vincent Knew signing for Spurs would be hard work and he is working very hard to be a part of the squad. Much has been written about him losing confidence or the manager losing faith in him, this is all not true. He signed a long term contract because the manager knew play time would be limited and its a big adjustment.”

“The club are backing him, his team mates are backing him and he is confident that he can contribute before this season is over and justify the investment in him.”

The Dutch striker was heavily linked with a loan move to Turkish side Galatasaray prior to his agents comments.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino when asked about Janssens future recently told the English press:

“This is not a good time for him, he did not play well against Aston Villa and he knows that. We do not write him off, we support him as we believe in him.”
