Tottenham look set to rekindle their interest in Schalke star Max Meyer.
Meyer was a transfer target for Tottenham last summer but balked at the asking price for the young German. Meyer’s season has been very similar to that of Schalke – lacking consistancy. At times he has gone missing in games but he has had a return to form recently and starred in the weekend’s 4-1 victory over Wolfsburg.
It’s expected that Clinton Njie will leave permanently in the summer and one of N’Koudou, Lamela or Moussa Sissoko will follow. That will mean Pochettino will be in the market for a young, versatile attacker and Meyer fits the bill.
What gives this rumour more impetus is that Meyer’s contract expires next season. Daniel Levy will hope to be able to sign the youngster at a snip of the 45m euros he was quoted last season.
