Rose and Lamela return to training

Long term absentees Danny Rose and Erik Lamela have returned to training.

Danny Rose and Erik Lamela have returned to Tottenham training ahead of their next Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

The pair began working with the first-team again earlier this week following long-term absences with serious injuries.

Danny Rose suffered medial ligament damage in his left knee during a 0-0 draw at Sunderland on 31 January. Rose returned to training in April but required an operation at the end of the season.

Many on Twitter have commented on Rose’s state of fitness and the images from training do suggest he may have put on some weight during his time off. However, Mauricio Pochettino’s gruelling regime should see him soon back to full fitness.

Meanwhile, Lamela who has struggled with hip injuries is back in first team contact training for the first time in a year. Promising signs but like Rose, such a long time out of the team will mean he needs to get up to speed fast to re-join the match squads.
