Spurs legend praises Dele Alli

Tottenham legend Graham Roberts hailed Dele Alli’s impact in England’s victory over Slovakia.

Dele Alli was introduced after 64 minutes – replacing an ineffective Jordan Henderson. Alli was threatening throughout and his lively performance didn’t go unnoticed by Roberts. He tweeted:

Another former Spurs player – Jamie Redknapp – was also quick to note the impressive performance of Alli and believes the youngster should start every game. Writing for the Daily Mail, Redknapp said;

“Alli has real imagination, skill and the ability to unlock doors. He is one of the best players we have produced in a long time.

… We have to give Sam time to get it right. However, this is the chance for a new beginning and Alli is the sort of player we can build the team around.”

Elsewhere, Christian Eriksen had an indifferent evening for Denmark. The Dane scored the only goal of the game against Armenia in a World Cup qualifier but also missed a penalty.

Hopefully both creative players will return to White Hart Lane with a confidence boost after a slow start in the Premier League.
