Spurs to now fully focus on appointing a new manager

Now that the season has come to a close, Tottenham can fully focus on appointing their new manager.
football.london understands that the club have now decided on their top candidate and hope to appoint them within the next 10 days if they can come to an agreement with the candidate’s current employers.
That is not understood to be an easy undertaking and it will test Tottenham’s financial resolve.
With many questioning the ambition of the north London club, not least with the recent Kane talk, this could be a big moment for Levy to show that the future success of the club on the pitch is at the forefront of his mind.
One person who ruled himself out of the running on Sunday was Brendan Rodgers as some Spurs fans hoped that Leicester’s failure to reach the top four once again might open that door.
However, the Foxes boss closed it himself. He told talkSPORT that he could “200 per cent” allay Leicester fans’ fears that he might leave.
He then added in his press conference: “They should have no worries about myself. I absolutely love it here at Leicester City. I’m emotional about missing out today and it makes me want to be here even more.”
Tottenham have been keeping their cards close to their chest in this managerial hunt and many of the incredible number of names touted around the world can only have been pushed out by agents or people putting two and two together and making five.
Even the recently announced departure of Nuno Espirito Santo from Wolves saw a huge push in the betting markets as people threw their money at the Portuguese becoming the next Tottenham boss. However, he is not believed to be in contention to take on the vacant spot at the north London club.
What we do know is that in Rodgers and the soon-to-be Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann, two managers Spurs admired from afar are now not available.
Tottenham have also kept an eye on Brighton’s Graham Potter, Ajax’s Erik ten Hag and Belgium boss Roberto Martinez and it’s understood that in the final days of the season more strong candidates made their interest known in the job.
