Tottenham listening to offers for Tom Carroll

Tottenham are prepared to sell Tom Carroll this month and are listening to offers for the midfielder, Sky sources understand.

The 24-year-old has made only three appearances for Spurs this season, despite extending his contract until 2019 last year.

Reports on Wednesday claimed Swansea were preparing a bid for Carroll, who is a product of Tottenham’s academy.

Sky Sports News HQ understands that Swansea were interested under previous manager Bob Bradley but that interest has cooled since Paul Clement took charge.

Carroll, who previously enjoyed a successful spell on loan at the Swans, is the only Tottenham player expected to leave this month, with boss Mauricio Pochettino preferring to keep his best youngsters training and travelling with the first-team for their development.

It is understood the club recently turned down an approach from an unnamed club for young full-back Kyle Walker-Peters.

Carroll broke through the Spurs academy himself, making his debut in 2011, and he has gone on to make 56 appearances in total, scoring three goals.

Spurs are only prepared to sign players who can markedly improve their first-team this month, and they will assess their options right until the end of the window.
