Tottenham plan to play strong team against Marine

Tottenham are planning to play a strong team in Sunday’s FA Cup third-round tie at non-league Marine.

On-loan forward Gareth Bale has asked to play after recovering from a calf injury, but midfielder Giovani lo Celso is out with a hamstring problem.

Marine have signed Clitheroe player-manager David Lynch in a 14-day deal and the 27-year-old midfielder is eligible to face Spurs.

The league rivals both say such a deal is unprecedented.

The Northern Premier League North West Division campaign is suspended so Clitheroe do not have any games at the moment and Lynch is not cup-tied.

The game – which kicks off at 17:00 GMT – is live on BBC One.
