TOTTENHAM SCOUTS WATCH IN-DEMAND WINGER

It is said that Tottenham have checked him out on several occasions but the competition will be fierce to sign a player rated at £10million.

Burke, already a full Scotland international, scored twice in Forest’s dramatic 4-3 win over Wigan at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon, as the club picked up their second win of the season.

In total, Burke has 29 appearances for the Forest first team, scoring five goals. He has been a stand-out performer in the early stages of this season, playing in all four of their games.

Despite the heavy interest, Forest boss Philippe Montanier is convinced that Burke’s future lies with the two-times European Champions.

“His future is at Nottingham Forest,” Montanier told BBC Radio Nottingham.  “Oliver knows that the most important thing for young players like him is to play and to progress. Here at Nottingham Forest, it is a good place to play and improve before going away.”

The Mirror’s report claims that Burke could be signed by a Premier League big gun and then loaned back to Forest for the remainder of the Championship season.

“A lot of young players go away very early and then they have problems trying to improve to play at the top level,” Montanier added.

“Oliver knows that it’s important for him and for us that here we have good facilities and a good atmosphere around him to improve his level and learn the game.”
