According to football magazine FourFourTwo, Dele Alli is the top wonder kid in the world.
The popular magazine comprised a list of the 59 best u21 footballers and Alli came first. After a slow start to the season, Alli has started to find the form he had last season – scoring against Stoke, Manchester City and most recently for England vs Malta.
Alli beat the likes of Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, 20 (2nd) and Renato Sanches, 19 (3rd).
“A thoroughly modern footballer, but one with anachronistic traits: Alli influences games in short, sharp doses. Rather than being a stable attacking presence, his best moments tend to appear from nowhere. He can be anonymous, but then with a flash of those feet or one of those instinctive late runs, he can change a game’s texture in a heartbeat.
“His balletic goal against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, for instance, was an unlikely exclamation point in a thoroughly unremarkable performance. That is the Alli calling card, though, and the precious trait of a match-winner.”
A remarkable rise from the former MK Dons youngster. All together now; WE’VE GOT ALLI!
