Kane is set for a massive pay hike at White Hart Lane

Harry Kane is set for a massive pay hike at White Hart Lane despite only penning a long-term deal with Spurs in February.

Harry Kane has opened talks on a bumper new contract at Spurs and the England man looks set to land himself a huge pay hike as the club moves to secure its prized asset on a fresh long-term deal.

Kane only put pen-to-paper on a five-and-a-half year agreement back in February but he will become the highest-paid player at White Hart Lane as the forward looks to cement his future under boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Kane’s £50,000-a-week basic will be at least doubled in the wake of the money that has flooded into Premier League clubs due to the bumper new television deal.

With Moussa Sissoko having joined on a £5m-a-year contract following his move from Newcastle this week, last season’s Premier League Golden Boot winner will cash in.

Sissoko’s arrival will see Kane’s basic weekly wage jump to around £120,000 – with bonuses and image rights he could end up taking home a cool £7.5m-a-year – meaning his entire package is likely to be in excess of £35m.

Spurs’ chief executive Daniel Levy has come under fire this week over the lack of movement over Christian Eriksen.

But the midfielder is now close to penning a contract that will see his money leap to £70,000-a-week following an intervention by boss Pochettino.

However, the going rate for a striker such as Kane, who will start up front for England this afternoon in Sam Allardyce’s first game in charge of the Three Lions is now well over £100,000-a-week – and Kane’s representatives are now discussing those terms.

And with the 23-year-old in the Champions League and on top of his game for club and country, he will cash in with the striker now established as one of the Premier League’s leading lights.
